Human Factors Assessments

The CRA team has considerable experience in assessing the role of plant operators in operating, maintaining and testing engineered plant and systems. In particular, over many years, we have taken lead roles in the development of human factors assessment techniques. These techniques have been integrated into plant based risk models when carrying out ‘holistic’ Probabilistic Safety Analyses (PSAs) of complex plants. The term ‘holistic’ is applied in order to denote that all interactions between the operators and the plant have been considered and are explicitly represented within the risk models.
